Sounds to good to be true right?

Well no it’s true, don’t believe me, well you will in about 8 minutes.  This simple tactic requires the use of forum marketing.

A forum is simply a meeting ground for people of similar interests.  There are thousands of forums out there, from people who love pets, to people who love wine tasting.  By buildig a reputation in forums, you can quickly build a following that can be harvested whenever you launch a product or join a new business.

First let’s cover how NOT to do forum marketing.  Many people will just join a forum and start posting like crazy, telling everyone to buytheir product or join their busines, this is nothing more than forum spam.  The only thing it does quickly is get you banned and make you look like a bad guy.

Never start telling people about your business opportunity in your first posts.  You can always do a “hi” post where you introduce yourself, but only do it in the section specified for those posts.  Always read the rules regarding  hyperlinks in posts, and never double post in a forum.  If you have something to ask, make sure to search the forum for an answer before you ask.  If someone asks a question on the forum, don’t leave a reply saying I don’t know, by now replying people will figure you don’t know.

Now for the right way, you just give value.  You do this by answering questions.  Your 30 minute daily forum marketing session should be purely used to help people who have problems you know the solution to.  Always answer honestly, and try to help them as fully as possible.  By providing them value, you will steadily develop a reputation in the forum as someone who knows a lot.  You will also develop friends and partners through all the people who read your posts and when you need to launch a product, you already have a bunch of affiliates.

One major no no on forums is flaming, which means talking bad about someone.  If someone has an attitude towards you, don’t get into a bashing fight where you verbally go for each other’s throats.  Show that you are the bigger man, and if that happens in a thread, people will respect how you handle the situation like an adult.

Respect is never given, it is earned, and in an industry where your name is everything, you want to build and maintain a reputation that will lead to powerful partnerships and ventures in the future.

Better Networker - For all network marketers.  A lot of free training and great people hang out here, it’s much more than a forum.

Warrior Forum - A classic hangout where you will often see bigname gurus congregate and share great info.

Those are the two I suggest you spend most of your time on.  There are several others, but most are dead, or full of spammers.  Enjoy the benefits these new reputations will get you, and remember to always conduct yourself with honor and ethics.

How To Monetize Visitors, Not Leads

This method is insane, and you might think I am crazy for suggesting this. Well the man I heard it from is by far crazier, but rest assured he is by far richer than both of us.

I know I preach daily about funded proposals and how to market products to your leads instead of your opportunity. This is of course to build the trust between you to as well as to help fund your advertising. Unfortunately everything is not always perfect, and you will not always recoup all your ad costs.

What I am about to teach you has been tested and proven by a Mr. Frank Kern ($23.8 million in 24 hours, the man has a few tidbits of good info every now and then :)

What you have to do is put adsense ads on your capture pages, right below the headline.

What!?!
I know crazy right?

At first it didn’t make much sense, but I tried it on a few sites and while your optin rate may drop a smidgen, you will definitely make more money.

Why?
Well simply when you optimize your capture page for high traffic keywords in your page, meta description, and so on; google will place adsense ads for people who bid on those keyword on your page. These competitive keywords pay you a decent amount per click and will definitely help cut away at your normal advertising costs.

It’s like 2005 all over again, simple click arbitrage where you buy traffic and immediately sell it back. It was a lot more profitable back then, but you can still leverage this today to get leads at a cheaper CPA. This may not work for everyone, but it has worked for me and Frank. I suggest trying this as an A-B split test before going all out.

The Secret To MLM Duplication

How do you bring out maximum duplication in your mlm organization?

Just employ the K.I.S.S. pricnciple, or K.eep I.t S.imple S.tupid

Instead of teaching your whole downline complicated techniques that are quoted as being duplicable, teach them the bear bones secrets to success. Don’t try to shove 100 things down their throats, get them started and get thebll rolling, then simply advance them step by step.

Where do they start, I suggest with their own capture page. If they want an automated system, they can utilize Magnetic Sponsoring. Or they can set up their own lead capture page that is nothing but a headline, some bullet points, a bit of text, and an optin form. Then when people optin teach your downline how to send valuable content a few times a week.

Some people try to teach their downline about blogs, creating products, and a whole slew of other techniques that not every networker has the ability to replicate. The more simple a system, the easier it is to duplicate. When I have a new team member, I give them two options.

They can either set up a capture page and get their own newsletter started. If they choose this, I sit down and decide on an action plan for them and make sure they have their skillsets straight. I do this to make sure they teach people the right information. This option is for experienced networkers only, don’t teach what you don’t know.

The second option is to have my new partner plug into one of the marketing systems I use. I utilize a variety of systems that have both generic capture pages, and company based ones, and they work like a charm. This system creates almost instant duplication because all they have to do is plug in their info and begin marketing.

MLM Duplication is the key if you want any sort of long term success because even if you recruit 100 people, if they can’t recruit anyone, they will leave faster than they joined. So remember, when teaching your downline how to become successful, keep it simple and keep it duplicable. Too much is not always a good thing.

I Fail All The Time!

This is the story of my life. For over two years I did everything wrong to build my network marketing organization. From buying leads, to buying traffic, to calling leads, and so on. I failed at least once a week, and never sponsored one person in my first 2 years. I am sure you have failed too, or you wouldn’t be here looking for more info.

Every time we fail, well I wouldn’t call it failure. Every time we do something that doesn’t turn out as expected, we find one more thing that doesn’t work. That’s not really failure, it’s simply like going on a trip but taking a wrong turn. There maybe a few mistakes or wrong turns on the way, but your most important thing is reaching the goal and constantly moving forward.

Some people think just because mlm gurus like Mike Dillard, Daegan Smith, or Ann Sieg make millions a year, that they never fail. I can’t put myself on the same level but I know that I fail sometimes daily, and I am sure they face their own minor setbacks. The key word is MINOR.

Sometimes I have an ad that fails, or a broken link that loses me money, or even a sign up I thought I had that backs out at the last moment. The key to success is not getting it right the first time, every time, or even getting right anytime. You will find the key to success to be your will to keep reaching at a goal no matter how many setbacks or detours you run into.

What is Attraction Marketing?

The term “attraction marketing” has been thrown a lot around lately, simply for the reason that it is proven to work. The problem is that many people are still in the dark about what this concept is.

Attraction marketing is simply developing yourself into a leader and a success story that other entrepreneurs wish to align themselves with. You build your knowledge, skillset, and bank account in the process, but the most important thing is what you give away.

To fully utilize attraction marketing you must practice the art of giving without want. I think Zig Ziglar puts it best when he says “You Can Have Everything In Life You Want, If You Will Just Help Enough
Other People Get What They Want”

You must give away your knowledge in audios, articles, reports, videos, and more. In doing this people will seek out the info you provide, and begin to see you as a person of higher value. They will also feel a bit indebted to you, it’s a simple law of human psychology. Another one of these laws will show itself when those people who eat up your information also want to know about you and your business.

We as humans are naturally attracted to those who hold a higher value, so by heightening our value, we will attract more leads, customers, and team members than we ever thought possible. Remember, as Eben Pagan says, attraction is not a choice. Your leads will be jumping down your throat to join a success story, no matter what your business is.

The Greatest Fisherman’s Tale

I know many people come into network marketing claiming they have too many limitations.

Some people are too broke, no experience, too young, too old, and with plenty of other “excuses” as to why they cannot succeed in network marketing.  Take a lesson from 28 year old Clay Dyer, who despite being born without arms or legs, continues to ursue his passion of being a pro fisherman.

Clay demonstrates for us that no matterwhat we come into this game with, we can play along side the big boys if we give it enough effort.  I came into network marketing an 18 year old kid without a job and very little in savings.  By leveraging the internet, my company systems, the knowledge of others, and more; I was able to find success.

Of course it took me time to reach my goal, as I am sure it took Clay awhile to play at his current level.  Our secret is that we never gave up.  Despite the failures, handicaps, or setbacks; we kept reachin higher no matter what limitaions the world tried to place on us.

Our biggest reason for current success, is that we aim for further success.  Clay still has to win the competition, which I am sure will hapen soon, and my business still has room for growth, as does yours.

Never give up guys, when you see someone like Clay doing what he loves, you cannot so easily put out this fiery passion inside you that burns for you to reach financial success.

The Best MLM Leads

I get asked all the time, what are the best mlm leads?

Honestly, they are the ones you create, the people who come to you first will always be more responsive than a stranger you call.

But in terms of generating your own high quality leads, your best mlm lead will be the one that jumps through the most hoops.  What does that means, if you have 10 fields on you autoresponder form, any lead who fills out all will be very targeted.

If you have ever worked with cpa ads, you can see a correlation between lead quality and the amount you get paid for the lead.  Forms that only require a zip code or e-mail address will pay $1-$1.50 while the huge 20 field insurance  lead forms will pay you $30 bucks.  When a lead is willing to give you that much info, they REALLY WANT what you have to offer them.

But remember there is a downfall to this methodology, when creating the best mlm leads, your conversion rate will inevitable suffer.  While you may get a 30% conversion on you capture page when requesting only name and e-mail address, adding in a required phone number field could drop you conversions to 20%, or maybe even worse.

In the hunt for the best catch, you will of course catch less.  You have a few options, one you could increase your traffic.  Well I lied, in reality that’s not always an option.  Come on, if it was that easy people would be doing it all the time, traffic is not always something you can control, and if you could, of course you would increase the traffic.

The best option, at least in my opinion, to create the best mlm leads would be to leave the extra forms as optional.  I have tested it myself, and my optin rate has dropped maybe 1%, but I tweaked a few other things and made my rate even higher than before.  The important thing to remember is to always be testing things on your capture page, and the only things you have to have are an e-mail address for follow-up and the person’s name to personalize your e-mails.

Now for a typical mlm lead capture page, I don’t really recommend more than 3 fields to get the prospect into your pipeline, but further down the line, like if offering a position in your downline which requires an application, make sure to have more fields, but the number is up to you.  Always split test your forms, which aweber allows you to do.  Now go out there and make it a better tomorrow for you and your family.

“But I generate 100 leads a day, why am I not making any money.  Everyone I call is not interested.”

This is paraphrasing a conversation I had with one of my new team members yesterday.  Really?  You generate 100 leads a day and you still can’t make money.  Well being in the position that I am, generating a bit more than that but still raking in well over six figures, I dug a bit deeper to find the real problem.

So I asked my team mate, let’s call him Sam, I asked Sam “how do you generate these leads?”  Guess what he replies with, “I buy them, duh.”  Well he didn’t say duh, but he might as well have.

At this point, I was a bit ticked.  Really?  After all the e-mails I send you, the 3 reports I give away on generating your own targeted leads, all the products I promote, and my articles and blog posts, but YOU STILL BUY LEADS!  I was quite dumbfounded, this man was as stubborn as it gets.

I understand the plight of people suffering calling dead beat leads, but when they learn the proper way of doing business, 100% of them turn around and are able to actually make money.  Well I guess I have to change that statistic to 99%.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me stress that unless you have world class selling skills, like that elite 1% of networkers, there is no way you will make money in network marketing when buying leads.  These leads have been resold 10’s of times to companies, and maybe even hundreds of times to other unknowing networkers.  Hell I still get calls from networkers, and I haven’t filled out those spammy capture pages in years.

On top of all this, if you utilize attraction marketing, even with elite selling skills, it would only make sponsoring and recruiting even easier for you.  With just 25 leads a day, you could sponor 2 or 3 a week, adding up to 8-12 people a month, which means 100-150 PERSONAL recruits a year.

Now this is where the magic happens (I love that saying).  Out of the 150, let’s say you get 3 leaders, 1 per 50 people.  On average I get about 1 real leader per 25 people.  Now you take these leaders further under your wing than your other team members, and teach them the hardcore stuff.  Let’s say they mess around and only end up with another 25 leads a day, 10 people a month, and 120 people a year.  For you thats 360 people a year in YOUR downline, on top of the other 150 you personally recruit.  Don’t forget while the other 147 may not be geat leaders, they will still have some results, and now you can see how a downline in the 1000-2000 range can be achieved in 2 years or less, very easily.

Now for the calling leads approach.  Let’s say you generate 1 sign up per 300 leads you call.  that would be incredible odds.  First off, 15% of those leads were probably fake numbers, and 20% would never even pick up.  Then you get past the other 15% who will hang up within your second sentence, and you’re left with 150 people willing to hear you out.  Maybe you get 70% to agree to a follow-up or hearing an opportunity call, meaning 105 of them.  About 20% will not make the follow-up cause they didn’t like the call, leaving you with about 80 people on the follow-up call.  Then they slay you with questions about the company, your income, marketing ystems, costs etc, and by now you have lost at least 80%, and you’re down to 16 people.  33%  will “call you back” because they want to think it over, but they never do call back, taking out another 5 people.  Left will 11 people now, there are always miscelanneous reasons like, their spouse doesn’t like it, they found something else, they don’t have the money and are not willing to refinance their house for another dream business, and so on.  90% drop out now, leaving you with 1 or 2 people.  Not bad right?  At a lead cost of $1 a peice, you only spent $300 to recruit 1 person, let’s hop they duplicate before they realize how stupid this sounds on paper.

Well about Sam, he thought my time tested strategies were stupid so he resolved to do things on his own.  He refused to listen to reason, and actually just sent me an e-mail that he would be leaving the company.  I don’t mind, I just wish I could have helped him more, I sincerely hope he does find success some day.

Twitter - What The Hell Is That?

I recently was talking to some of my non-internet marketing friends.  Of course with any group of young people you have the facebook users, but we stumbled onto the topic of Twitter?

The inevtable question came up of “Twitter, what the hell is that.”

So I explained twitter is simply a social networking site that alows you to follow people you know or admire and allows people to follow you back.  When you follow people, your homepage will display updates from them, such as what they’re up to, reading, creating, or anything.  The interface is similar to facebook’s update screen.

It is used by many marketers as a way to quickly get a message to their prospects, and people spend more time just checking updates than they do on e-mail nowadays.  The trick behind twitter is that all messages must be under 140 characters, this is done because that message length mimics normal human conversation.

You can often times find your favorite guru talking to another guru about their revolutionary new product, and b in theknow before anyone else.  Some marketers have used it to generate thousands of leads at a brand new site before notifying their e-mail list or having any jv mailings.

The true power of twitter is found in it’s viral capabilities.  It allows people to retweet your messages and notify their followers.  For example, if guru a has 10,000 followers and he tweets about his new project, and guru b picks up on that tweet and retweets it to his 100,000 followers, guru a has just leveraged te efforts of guru b to 10x his exposure, all for free.

Many twitter applications hav come out recently allowing for very creative marketing techniques to be employed, such as people offering discounts on their products to people who tweet aout the product, or even software that let’s you follow massive amounts of people and develop a huge following in a short time.  Even cell phone companies have apps now that allow you to access twitter from anywhere, making it possible to even launch a product as you wait for your plane to take off (very interesting story by a friend of mine.)
