Ups and Downs of Physical Products
Not many marketers are brave or smart enough to go the more complicated route of selling physical products.
The positives of physical products is their increased perceived value. People love to be able to feel and hold what they bought. I have wished many times I could print an e-book for easy access. Also they better brand you as a real marketer because people see your name and sometimes picture in those books and on cd’s or dvd’s they order. Illegal resale is almost eliminated because who is really going to go and giveaway a book they spent money on, at least they won’t do it with a quality book.
A problem with physical products is shipping. A lot of times people will have to pay extra for shipping as well as have to wait for it to arrive. It takes a lot longer to design the products. You must also find distribution sources to mail and package your products so you don’t do it. None of the big names actually sit there and package and send their stuff, they pay a nominal fee to get everything automated.
I suggest starting with simple free e-books to establish your name, maybe offer an oto to attract affiliate partners. When you have developed partnerships then begin a launch for your grand physical products. Remember Frank kern made $23 million with a few of his products. Even his $2000 mass control was completely sold out.
