I have used google’s free adword tool for months now to get great suggestions on how to target my sites. They would show bar graph type estimates on the competition for keywords, as well as their search volume. One thing was missing though, the number of searches.

Google now includes an approximate number of monthly searches for each of the keywords to help you estimate your traffic. This can potentially eliminate need for pricey programs like niche bot and wordtracker.

Also this is a great help to all ad publishers because now you can focus on more high traffic keywords without having to guess about them. The competition bar is still hard to read but at least it gives a general idea, maybe they will change that next.

Happy keyword hunting guys.

Face the facts guys, you will never rank high for home business, income opportunities, or make money from home; these are established websites with steady traffic streams and thousands of links. How do you compete, you don’t, just turn over and face the facts, you would have to spend tens of thousands in optimization fees which you may not have.

Keyword research is key when building a site, starting from getting the domain name. Depending on your niche, even if it isn’t internet marketing keywords in your domain name will help your rank a lot.

One of my most beloved tools is SEO Book , that is the link to their keyword research tool. It is essentially a free version of wordtracker. It will tell you the amount of times your terms are searched for in different engines and even give some keyword suggestions. Target keywords with less competition and high traffic and watch your rankings soar.

Use this to your full adavantage and enjoy the feel of being near the top of Google.

Video sites like youtube and megavideo have a high PR to begin with. Utilizing this, as well as well placed keywords in your video title and descriptions, you can get top 10 placement for your videos in little to no time at all.

On top of this it’s like having your follow up call right there. You can easily explain the benefits of joining any of your home business teams over a different team. If you want you can show payment proof and how much you make weekly, monthly, daily, whatever to motivate someone who is on the fence about an opportunity.

After watching the video, it heightens the chance that a prospect will contact you or optin at your page for more info, so place a link nearby and you will see results in days.

Honestly these techniques are so powerful they should be illegal, but luckily not many know how to utilize them properly so it’s easy to triumph over your competition with the right knowledge.

Enjoy you video marketing, remember to smile

A list is useless without a relationship with your subscribers. How better to start that relationship than to put a video on your optin page so everyone can see you. On top of that you can put your video on sites like youtube and get people to your site by clicking on your link afterwards.

Even better you can easily explain what you offer your subscribers. This is one of the most powerful tactics in list building and can instantly boost optin rates. Try it for yourself.

Are you having trouble building a list? You send thousands of people to your capture page with traffic exchanges and other methods, the hits are their, but the subscribers are not.

Let’s face it, e-mail marketing is old so people know they will be sold to after joining your list. What they get from you has to outweigh the thought of someone being sold to, and as you may know, people hate being sold to.

What should you do? Offer people an e-book that will be sent with their first message in the series, this way they not only optin, but they confirm their subscription, now you can actually mail to them.

I personally prefer to write my own short reports on popular topics. Right now web 2.0 is huge, write a book on how to succeed at it and you can rake in thousands of subscribers with the right traffic. Of course these are subscribers who may not be interested in joining your opportunity, but they love web 2.0 so become an affiliate of a new product and rake in commission.

Are you familiar with keyword spamming or keyword stuffing. Spamming is when your keyword term appears too many times in your page. Stuffing is when it is too frequent in your meta keywords.

How to counteract Keyword spamming? Remember this is serious, if you don’t rank for your main terms, you are wasting all your efforts. Google has the most stringent criteria, keep it down to only 3-4% for them. Yahoo, aol, and the others are more lenient on keyword density, to rank for them you can stay around 4-6%, maybe even push your luck to 7%. Remember one thing though, around 65% of search engine traffic comes through Google so you want to please them the most. What I suggest then is to keep overall density at between 3-5%, Mine is at 3% and I am on the 1st page on Google for my term, but on the second page in Yahoo.

About keyword stuffing, most people don’t have a problem with this because new webmasters don’t mess with meta keywords. For the slightly more advanced groups, try to have no more than 20 keywords in your meta keywords. This includes words that are repeated, so if you use cheese twice in two different search terms, it counts as 2 out of the 20.

These tactics can greatly improve your on page optimization score with the Search engines. Use a simple html editor like frontpage to employ these tactics.

The search engines get smarter and smarter each year. If they sense irregular link building within your site they may ban you for being black hat.
So here is the big question, how many daily links is too much. Personally I like to keep a steady campaign at all times, because PR is not just 1, 2, 3 it also goes into decimal places.

Minimum I suggest is 20 links a day, which can be easily done with software like comment kahuna, or spending an hour on hubpages.

Maximum is where the real problem is. The most I would do is 50-75. If you even do this many you are most likely doing automated campaigns so to tone it down a notch is not a big deal. Of course you can do more but I want you to play it safe so no you dont get caught by that one Google personnel on his bad day who is just wants to make someone else miserable.

I have witnessed people do over 100 a day without being banned. My suggestion is for your safety and what I practice, take my word with a grain of salt, this is a personal experience and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

A lot of sites make it extremely easy to build some great links. If your link building campaign is suffering try posting to a few on this list.

hubpages- http://hubpages.com

When you are not signed in hubpages works like a blog. You put your name, e-mail, and most importantly your website link. Of course you should post relative posts in your niche for the best results, but you can still generate 20-30 links a day using this. Search for high PR pages before you post and soak up the good PR juice.

Squidoo- http://squidoo.com

Here you have to post an article or review of some sort. All you do is then hyperlink to your sites and get great backlinks. If you write a good lens you can even become a search engine magnet, load up the page with a few affiliate links and you even make a nice profit.

Wordpress- http://wordpress.com

Using wordpress itself you can actually search for blogs in your niche and then post to them to get some high quality links. The only downside to this method is that wp blogs come standard with the no-follow tag so you may be posting in vain. Spiders will still crawl the links and they can help your site get indexed but will not help your site’s PR in any way. There is no way to use wp to actually find out which blogs are no-follow, but if you are willing to spend time, you may find a great few. There are many bloggers now switching to do-follow to give back to their readers.

Happy link building guys, don’t get too spammy.

What is PR Pie?

PR Pie is what I as well as some search engine marketers use to metaphorically describe how distribution of PR works.

If you have too many links coming from one page on your site, each site being linked to will receive less of a rank boost as more are added. Also having too many links from your site in the first place can negatively affect your PR period.

So lets say you have 2 link pages each with a PR 5, you have 20 links on 1 page, and 1 link on the other. The link by itself is getting the full PR boost of linking to your site while each of the other 20 receive about 5% of the PR5 boost.

As a rule of thumb I suggest not having more than 20 sites being linked to from any of your link/resource pages. Of course this is a lot harder to regulate when owning a blog.

Most people think blog marketing and blog spamming are easy was to get great links and boost your PR. Unfortunately this is far from true. PR is not representative of an entire site, but mostly just for the front page.

Ever wonder why link and article directories charge more for a link on the main page, its because they carry a greater weight. So when you go and post on all these PR 4 and 5 blogs, but ost on their pages without any PR it doesnt help you much.

How do you overcome this. Not to long ago I talked about the SEO Quake plugin available at their website http://seoquake.com , this tool will allow you to properly analyze the PR of every page on a site or blog, helping you to find the best post to put your link in a comment at. Remember links ride on quality over quantity, 100 PR 0 links have less effect than 1 PR 5 link.

Happy link building.
